Welcome to the official website of "Matsubayashi Shogenryu Karate and Yamane Kisabaryu Kobudo". We are a group of karate practitioners trying to go back to the roots of Okinawa karate through the Matsubayashi Shorin Ryu System, by visiting frequently Okinawa, the birth place of Karate, and learning under Kaicho Takeshi Tamaki (Hanshi), Sensei Tokashiki Masahiko, and other instructors of the Hombu Dojo, like Sensei Arakaki, Sensei Hentona, Sensei Esu, and Sensei Nakaza.

Our International Association is headed by Kaicho, Takeshi Tamaki (Hanshi). The Hombu Dojo Cho is Sensei Tokashiki Masahiko. The International headquarters (Hombu Dojo) is the Tokashiki Dojo in Naha, Okinawa, Japan.

The India branch is headed by Kyoshi K.P. Johnson, 7th Dan, who is the director for South Asia and United Kingdom (UK). The Indian Headquarters dojo is situated at Bogadi, Mysore, (Karnataka State). The sole aim of India branch is to learn and teach only the traditional system of karate. We uphold the teachings of Shoshin Nagamine, the founder of Matsubayashi Shorin Ryu Karate, as it is handed over to us through our Kaicho, Takeshi Tamaki. This association exists only because of the true love towards the pure traditional Okinawa Karate-do. We respect and value other karate organizations and in no way interested in challenging or criticizing their teachings or training methods.

The system of Shorin Ryu Karate Do is centered on the balance of Body and Mind. The power and speed of each movement is generated from the hip and to master it, one has to be humble enough to lead a life of commitment and hard work. The Shorin Ryu Karate Do is not a course to learn but a way of life that we aim to perfect, but is a way of life that we aim to perfect.
